Wave House San Diego was the second island in the chain, but is world headquarters for the Wave House lifestyle and the source from which all the new ideas and innovations flow. In 2004, Wave Loch CEO Tom Lochtefeld made San Diego the permanent home for the FlowBarrel Bruticus Maximus – which had toured Europe and the world on the SWATCH Wave Tour. At Wave House San Diego, the Bruticus Maximus “B-Max” is center stage, surrounded by bars, restaurants, music stages and a lifestyle: sand under foot, sun and stars above.
Durban is one of the biggest surf towns in South Africa, so when Wave House opened there in November 2001, it seemed like importing sand to the Sahara. Eight years later, Wave House Durban is stronger than ever as part of the Gateway Theater of Shopping. A massive, Tony Hawk-designed skatepark complements the waves. There are two FlowRiders and the double-barreled Durbanicus Rex (DRex) - where a left FlowBarrel and a right FlowBarrel face each other.
Perfect waves are now made available to the residents of Santiago Chile, with the opening of Wave House Santiago at Mall Sport, a 100,000 square foot retail complex dedicated to board sports in northeast Santiago. 100,000 gallons of water flowing at 30 MPH over a FlowBarrel, together with the city’s best pizza place, Santa Pizza, makes Wave House Santiago undoubtedly the “Buena ola!” (Perfect Wave).
