Inaugural Asian FLOW Series 2011 Kicks Off This September

Flowriding has just grown bigger! Inspired by the success of the Flow Tours in the US and the FLOW Championships held in Singapore for the last two years, venues in the Asia region have teamed up to organise the inaugural Asian Flow Series 2011. The confirmed venues are: Wave House Sentosa (Singapore), Sunway Lagoon (Malaysia), DreamWorld (Australia) and Pacific Islands Club (Saipan).

To the uninitiated, flowriding is a discipline of water boardsports that combine moves from skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding and skimboarding. In the Asian Flow Series 2011, riders will compete on a ride surface known as the Double FlowRider ® wave machine. Visit to learn about this cool machine!

From Wave House Sentosa, where both the first stop and the Series Finals will be held, Director Asia-Pacific Operations Mr. Tan Xu Teng has this to say, "The involvement of more venues in our competition is spicing up the Flowriding scene in Asia and I’m looking forward to be surprised by more competitors from different places. The line up of official partners is also looking fantastic, I’m delighted to have them on the Asian Flow Series wagon."

Competitors in the Asian Flow Series will fight for pole positions in their own territory before advancing to the finals in Singapore on 1st October. Each competition venue of the Asian Flow Series will be sending the best from the three following divisions: Men’s Expert Flowboard, Ladies’ Expert Flowboard and Expert Bodyboard Open. The eventual champions of the Asian Flow Series in the Singapore Finals will represent Asia in the third annual FLOW Championships at Wave House Durban, South Africa from 5th - 9th October 2011.
