The Double FlowRider®

The more basic of the two waves available at Wave House Sentosa. It creates a safe, non-curling, endless wave that is endlessly fun to ride. 30,000 gallons of water per minute flow as fast as 20 mph (32 kmph) over a plastic surface, like a wrestling mat, to generate a thin, fast-moving sheet of water. Riders can slide down and ride up the wave surface, and carve turns, emulating the maneuvers of other board sports. Kids on bodyboards love the Double FlowRider and will stay on it all day long, while those wanting to learn to stand up on flowboards will start on the Double FlowRider to learn the skills they'll need on the FlowBarrel. 

 

 

The FlowBarrel®


The more challenging of the two sheet waves at Wave House Sentosa - 100,000 gallons of water per minute flowing as fast as 30 mph (48 kmph) curl over a surface that looks like a section of a skateboard park. The result is a perfect, endlessly tubing six-foot wave that has similar power and challenge to many of the waves breaking along the reefs of Indonesia.

The FlowBarrel has become an international sensation, but not just to surfers. Riders on the FlowBarrel ride flowboards and flowboarding is an alchemy of many different board sports: surfing without a fin plus snowboarding without the snow plus skateboarding without the wheels plus skimboarding without the sand. Flowboarding is a combined challenge that has been evolved by Kelly Slater, Tony Hawk, Terje Haakonsen and the world's best surfers, skaters, snowboarders and skimboarders.

Hours of Operation

Sunday to Thursday - 11am to 11pm
Friday to Saturday - 11 am to 2am

Sessions run every hour on the hour.
Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the hour you intend to ride for registration at the Wave Desk.

 

Rules of Riding

  1. All riders must present a government photo identification in order to ride.
  2. You must be over 110cm (42") to bodyboard on the FlowRider.
  3. You must be over 135cm (52") to ride standup on the FlowRider or ride the FlowBarrel.
  4. FlowBarrel - Riders must be able to ride the FlowRider before advancing to the FlowBarrel.
  5. Riders under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian with a valid ID present to sign off.
  6. You must be able to swim in fast-moving, turbulent water.
  7. Do not participate if you have had any recent surgery or illness.
  8. Do not participate if you have a heart condition or neck, back and bone ailments.
  9. Do not participate if you suffer from high blood pressure or aneurysms.
  10. Do not participate if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
